Types of Membership

Individual
Three types of individual membership exist:  inspector, associate, and student

1. Inspector members are those who are actively employed as electrical inspectors.
2. Associate members are both those who work in the electrical industry, but are not inspectors, and those who are actively involved in supporting electrical safety through code-compliance.
3. Student members are who are currently enrolled in an approved college, university, vocational technical school or trade school specializing in electrical training or approved electrical apprenticeship school.

Membership fees:

• Yearly:  $102
• Multi-year:  $286 for three years
• Student:  $78 yearly 

1. Section member. An organization or firm that operates within the territory of a single IAEI Section and is interested in promoting the objectives of IAEI. A section member may have one representative in the Section where their operations are conducted. This representative would be entitled to the privileges of an associate member unless qualified as an inspector member.
2. National member.  An organization or firm that confines its operations to a single country and is interested in promoting the objectives of IAEI. A national member may have one representative in each Section within the boundaries of the country where operations are conducted. These representatives would be entitled to the privileges of an associate member unless qualified as an inspector member.
3. International member.  An organization or firm that operates on an international basis and is interested in promoting the objectives of IAEI. A member of this group may have one representative for each Section. These representatives would be entitled to the privileges of an associate member unless qualified as an inspector member.
4. Inspection Agency member.  A municipal, county, state, provincial or federal government or private inspection agency which makes inspections of electrical materials, devices, appliances or installations, for the purpose of preventing injury to persons or damage to property, which is interested in participating in attaining the objectives of IAEI. Such membership shall provide one inspector membership for the electrical inspector principally engaged in electrical inspection of the inspection agency.
5. Sustaining member.  An organization, firm, association or group which is particularly interest in supporting the objectives of IAEI through an annual subscription. A sustaining member may have one representative for each section. These representatives would be entitled to the privileges of an associate member unless qualified as an inspector member. Sustaining memberships are established as: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze
