Question: When was it that UL-approved panel shops became better (or the only) designers and fabricators of industrial control panels?
This is becoming a big problem with some local inspectors taking the position that all control panels must be fabricated in UL-approved panel shops. Many electrical contractors are able to fabricate a safe control panel from design documents stamped by a licensed electrical engineer. Is this not an option now? When was it that UL-approved [...]
