News to Know!

The 2008 NEC is contained in the 2010 Building Code of NYS, see http://publicecodes.citation.com/st/ny/st/index.htm.

Electrical inspectors need to be qualified. New utility requirements for inspection agencies are established for some utilities and others soon in NYS to require the local AHJ to qualify those who do electrical inspections in their municipality pursuant to NYS Building Code administration requirements. Check with your local utility and get informed!

NFPA 70E applies to all who meet the NEC definition for qualified person doing work on electrical systems of premises wiring. These are OSHA requirements – see OSHA 1910.333. We had a well attended seminar on February 16th, 2012 in Syracuse; let us know if another is needed!
