City of Pontiac is currently accepting applications for the positions of Plumbing Inspector, Electrical Inspector and Mechanical Inspector to perform City inspections in compliance with State and Local plumbing codes and ordinances for new construction, additions, and alterations of all residential, commercial and industrial plumbing, electrical and structural systems.
Applicants for Plumbing Inspector and Electrical Inspector positions must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D and a minimum of four (4) years exp. as a licensed journey worker or shall be licensed as a Master Plumber or Master Electrician.
Applicants for the Mechanical Inspector position must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D and a minimum of four (4) years exp. In either the work classification of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) or hydronic heating and process piping or a combination of both classifications, two (2) years of which must be at the journey level or higher.

Residency requirement (within 20 miles of municipal boundaries) must be met within 12 months of employment. Must possess upon hire and maintain possession of a valid Michigan Operators License.
