Responsibilities:
Determines conformance of new and revised electrical installations to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and supports the Electrical Safety Subject Matter Expert in electrical safety program implementation.
Qualifications:
Comprehensive: Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), its application in the field, and the electrical inspection process as evidenced by one or more of the following: - ICC (International Code Council) Commercial Electrical Inspector, - IAEI (International Association of Electrical Inspectors) Certified Electrical Inspector Master, OR - Passing NCPCCI (National Certification Program for Construction Code Inspectors) Exams 2A, 2B, and 2C plus at least two years experience performing electrical inspections.
Considerable: Considerable knowledge of electrical systems. Good: Good skills in preparing and presenting effective safety presentations are required. Good knowledge of NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. Good knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding electrical safety, i.e. 29 CFR 1910.269; 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S; and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart K. Some: Some experience in providing electrical or electrical safety training is desirable but is not required if a sufficient degree of aptitude is demonstrated.
Other: This level of knowledge and skills is typically attained through receipt of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, or related fields such as Electronics Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or Computer Engineering: OR certification as a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician. Bachelor's Degree and 0-1 year of experience/equivalent, Associate's Degree and 9-10 years experience/equivalent.
