• The province of Québec's electrical regulations are enforced by chapter 5 of the the Québec Construction Code, (Québec Electrical Code). The provincial branch that enforces this code is the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ). The mission of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec is "to ensure proper quality of construction work and the safety of the public who have access to a building or facilities intended for use by the public or who use installations independent of a building."
  
  
• The latest edition of the Québec Electrical Code came into effect on November 5, 2007. This code uses the 2006 20th edition of the CE Code.
