Electrical Codes
The adopted codes are:

International Building Code, 2003 Edition, with modifications:

International Fire Prevention Code, 2003 Edition, with modifications:

International Property Maintenance Code, 2003 Edition.

The State of Oklahoma adopted the 2005 NEC® on July 1, 2005. By Oklahoma state law, no city in Oklahoma may adopt any electrical installation code less stringent than the state adopts. However, many towns in Oklahoma enforce various editions of the NEC® and generally do so until a conflict arises. Basically, inspectors employed by the State of Oklahoma primarily inspect state buildings and properties but do when called upon visit, support, and assist municipal inspection departments. They also enforce the state's electrical licensing laws. The state inspectors are under the oversight of a Governor appointed Building Construction Board consisting of 9 members with the executive director that works directly with the board being a state employee.
