Focus on the Code
The
Focus on the Code column is intended to assist our
readers and members in understanding the requirements of
the National Electrical Code. Our Code consultants consists of IAEI representatives
on the 20 code making panels of the NEC and other
selected experts.
To Submit a Focus on the Code question, please include your
name and contact information in an email to iaei@iaei.org. Then ask the code question, and if possible, please include the relevant NEC section or article number.
These questions will
be submitted to the code panel representative. The
representatives are given at least 30 days to respond to
questions, and then these questions and answers are sent to
the technical committee.
The resulting answers will be
published in the magazine, as we cannot guarantee time
constraints nor if the answer is approved by the technical
committee. Please check for magazine publishing dates. Questions will be
included based on space, so they may be moved to the next
issue.
If this is an URGENT question, please contact
your local AHJ or NFPA for information. This section is for answering questions related to the National Electrical Code and its articles. Any other questions should be forwarded to the local AHJ.
