Office Renovation

How it began
Our building project started as a search for a new home for the IAEI International Office due to facility deterioration and changing needs. A capital campaign was begun to raise funds for this purpose. After considerable research into new facility options, the Board of Directors decided that renovating the existing building made more sense.

Planning and preparation
Our CEO David Clements, is the renovation project manager. He researched and presented to the Board for approval and is managing the project as it unfolds. Office Manager Cathy Higgs has provided exhaustive project support, in particular for arranging for and managing office operations around the construction project - storage and sale of old furniture, temporary accommodations for staff, and overseeing IT support for staff throughout the relocation and remote location of staff.
The duration
Staff members have continued to provide customer service, membership support, Board support, education programs and more throughout the office upheaval. For a short time, this included squeezing staff into downstairs offices while the upstairs remodel began. Then everyone began to work remotely except our valiant shipping and warehouse manager Jeff Phillips, with part time presence by others.
