Connecting To Earth - The Grounding Electrode System

Connecting To Earth - The Grounding Electrode System
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM (Central) Synopsis: One of the most, if not most important aspects in keeping our electrical systems operating in a safe and effective manner is the grounding electrode system. Grounding electrodes provide the essential function of connecting the electrical system and electrical equipment to the earth. This presentation will take a closer look at perhaps the most effective grounding electrode that can be present on the job site, the concrete-encased electrode. What building construction elements constitute a concrete-encased electrode? What elements do not qualify as a concrete-encased electrode? This presentation will address all (8) of the grounding electrodes discussed at NEC 250.52(A) and their role in keeping homes and workplaces safe from electrical catastrophe.
