Quick Fact: The state of Hawaii passed a rule that as of July 2018, the state had to adopt the most recent edition of the model codes, including the NEC, within one year of publication. The four Hawaii counties — Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii – Big Island — have two years in which to adopt locally. ( Send us an update):

Units of timeContact Hours. Prior to each renewal license, all licensed electricians are required to furnish proof of attendance to a classroom course related to the current updates of the NEC.
