Quick Fact: Kentucky first adopted and began enforcement of the 2018 Kentucky Building Code (IBC-2015), 2018 Kentucky Residential Code (IRC-2015), and NEC-2017 without amendments on August 22, 2018. However, a grace period was allowed until the beginning of 2019. (Send us an update):


License Renewal & CEU Requirements

Electricians

HOURS REQUIRED:  6
CODE-RELATED: 4
RENEWAL CYCLE: Annual

RENEWAL DATE: Birth date
 
Units of timeContact Hours. Of the 6 required hours, 4 hours must be on changes to the National Electrical Code. The additional two hours may be in safety practices and procedures.

Certified Electrical Inspector

HOURS REQUIRED:  12
CODE-RELATED: 12
RENEWAL CYCLE: Annual

RENEWAL DATE: Birth date
 
Units of time — Contact Hours. Each certified electrical inspector shall attend at least one (1) continuing education program of a minimum of twelve (12) hours each year.
