National Certification Program for Construction Code Professionals
Plan Review (2C) Program
The National Certification Program for Construction Code Professionals (NCPCCI) is designed to assess competency in technical code knowledge of a construction code inspector or plan reviewer. The NCPCCI certification program consists of a computer-based examination and a set of re-certification continuing education requirements that must be completed within a three-year time period prior to the initial certification.
The NCPCCI 2C program showcases an individual's knowledge and proficiency with electrical plan review requirements and concepts found in NFPA 70, National Electrical Code. We invite you to find a testing center and get started today.

Reference MaterialsThe exam is presently based on the 2017 edition of NFPA 70, National Electrical Code. It is the candidates responsibility to obtain this document for study purposes and to have during the examination. It is the only reference source allowed in the examination room. IAEI's Electrical General Study Guide is helpful for preparing to take the exam.

Renewal InformationContinuing Education Requirements
The renewal requirement for the NCPCCI (for 2A, 2B, and/or 2C) is 2.4 CEU’s (24 Contact hours).
* Minimum of 8 hours (0.8 CEU) of NEC Code Update/Changes. These can be based on the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC) or an earlier edition of the NEC as mandated by your local jurisdiction.
Explanation of Credits
You are required to have a total of 26 overall credits to complete this certification.
