Legislation – Rhode Island

Updated as of August 2019:

The 2017 NEC is now law in the State of Rhode Island as of August 1, 2019. The process to get it adopted in a more timely fashion will be worked on more during the next General Assembly.

Senate Bill S 375 is dead for the 2019 session. We will be keeping an eye on this during the next session. This act would allow electrician apprentices to qualify for the journeyperson "B"  electrical examination upon successful completion of two hundred eighty-eight (288) hours of  classroom training in a recognized trade school.
